Configuring Netscape

After loading Netscape onto your computer, start the program by double clicking its icon on the desktop.

  1. Click Options
  2. Select Mail and News Preferences
  3. Select the Servers tab

Fill in these fields:

  1. Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: mail.icsp.net.
  2. Incoming Mail (POP) Server: mail.icsp.net.
  3. POP User Name: your login name.
  4. Maximum Message Size: check NONE.
  5. Messages are copied from the server to the local disk: check Removed from the Server.
  6. News [NNTP] server: news.icsp.net

Select the Identity Tab and fill in these fields:

  1. Your Name: your real name.
  2. Your Email: your-login-name@internetchicago.com.
  3. Your Organization: Internet Chicago.
  4. Click OK.

To check your mail, click on the envelope icon on the bottom right of the navigator window.
